An organisation and cleaning guru has shared her secret to getting makeup stains out of clothes - and she only uses one household staple.

Melbourne mum-of-two Chantel Mila, better known as Mama Mila, said she uses shaving cream to remove makeup stains such as foundation and lipstick from clothes.

'This is the ultimate stain removal hack makeup artists swear by,' she said in a viral TikTok.

An organisation and cleaning guru, Chantel Mila, has shared her secret to getting makeup stains off clothes - and she only uses one household staple

Chantel first applies shaving cream all over the stain and lets it soak in for ten minutes.

After that, she uses a brush or cloth to scrub against the stain in circular motions.

'You can see the stain reducing instantly,' she said.

She then merely washes the piece of clothing as per usual in the washing machine and the stain is completely banished.

Chantel's video received over 40,000 views and several comments.

Many thanked her for the easy hack and shared their own methods of getting rid of stubborn stains.

'This is so good,' said one woman. 'I also make a paste with baking soda and lemon and I apply it gently.'

'You're absolutely a superhero,' wrote another woman.

She added, 'I have so many makeup stains on my light clothes with no idea how to remove it - until now!'

Chantel also shared the formula for a DIY spray that removes sweat stains from clothes in just ten minutes.

She uses a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and dishwashing liquid to easily lift perspiration stains from clothes.

'This is the easiest way to remove underarm deodorant stains for good,' she captioned her viral TikTok.

Chantel mixes in two parts of hydrogen peroxide with one part of dishwashing liquid in order to create the spray.

She then pours the mixture into a bottle and sprays it on the stained clothes, leaving it to soak for ten minutes.

'The powerful mixture will lift the stain right off,' she said.

She then washes the clothes in a washing machine as per usual.

While the trick is usually used on white clothes, Chantel said 3% hydrogen peroxide and a shorter soak time should work fine on dark clothes.

However, she still recommends patch testing beforehand as different materials might react differently to the DIY mixture.
